Meet Carl
Carl Lewis was born in Ohio at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (AFB), and as a military child, grew up in multiple states, Ohio, North Carolina, Hawaii, Virginia, and California. His father retired for the U.S. Marines in 2004, and moved back to Ohio, where he graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 1996. Carl joined the U.S. Navy in 1998, and upon completion of Basic Training he attended the Naval School of Health Sciences for training as a dental assistant and was a distinguished graduate. He was selected to go directly into the Tri-Service School of Dental Technology at Sheppard AFB for training as a basic dental technician, graduating in November 1999. After tours of duty at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia and the U.S.S. Emory S. Land, he returned to Sheppard AFB to attend the advanced dental lab technician course, graduating in early 2004. After completion of the advanced course, Carl was retained at Sheppard AFB, attended the Basic Instructor Course, then reported for duty as an instructor teaching the removables section of the lab course to members of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
